What is HQ Sapphic Week?HQ Sapphic Week is a one week (7 day) long fan event dedicated to the creation and promotion of fanworks that show appreciation towards sapphic ships and characters in Haikyuu!! The 2024 iteration of the event is projected to take place from Monday 2nd September to Sunday 8th September with each day having daily prompts to inspire your creations!!With whatever you create, we encourage you to use the event week hashtags and also tag us on your twitter post. We’ll be retweeting all content created for the event to our account and don’t want to miss your wonderful submissions!! We also have an AO3 collection that you can add your works to if you wish.Who can participate?Anyone!! The event is open to people of all ages provided they exercise appropriate online fandom behaviour and stay away from any content they don’t like/agree with/want to see. Minors are prohibited from interacting with any NSFW/DD content produced for this event. There will be separate hashtags for SFW event content and NSFW/DD event content for this exact reason, so proper use of the tags is mandatory. You are responsible for curating your own online space.Are there any content restrictions?No, there aren’t any restrictions on the content you can make for this event. SFW, NSFW and Dead Dove content are all allowed and welcome, the only thing we ask is that you properly tag all content and use the appropriate fanweek tags when posting to twitter so that those who don’t want to see any NSFW/DD creations can easily avoid them.Are trans and non-binary headcanons welcome?Yes absolutely!! This event is inclusive of all identities and character headcanons that fall under the sapphic umbrella. Sapphic is an incredibly broad term that encompasses many different genders and types of attraction, including but not limited to lesbians, trans women, non-binary people, bisexual, pansexual and omnisexual people. It would be incredibly wrong of us to use this term and exclude a large portion of the LGBTQ+ identities that fall under it, so you are free to create content exploring any identity that "sapphic" encompasses.Is cisswap content allowed?Because one of the core values of this event is not placing restrictions on fandom content, cisswap content is allowed. If you want to create a work around bisexual transwoman Hanamaki or non-binary lesbian Goshiki, you're more than welcome to create that!!However, the mods want to make sure that participants understand that this event was created with the intention of sharing love and appreciation for the canon women in Haikyuu!! and the wlw/nblw ships in the fandom that often go underappreciated, so we actively encourage participants to use this event as the opportunity to do that. As such, all of our promotional posts for the event will centre around the canon Haikyuu!! women.Do we have to create ship content?No, not at all!! While a lot of our focus is on wlw/nblw ships, you absolutely don't have to create ship content if you don't want to. Lotzo has long thought that the Haikyuu!! women and their wlw ships don't get anywhere near as much love as they deserve, so after being enabled by their friends they set out to change that.They were the sole mod of last years event and vow to do everything in their power to bring you all the amazing Sapphic Week the Haikyuu!! fandom deserves.
